He’s Home!

Last we updated, Crew was just coming out of being sick. They never were able to pin it down to anything. Cultures didn’t grow anything, and nothing else stood out. Maybe just a combo of introduction of formula with Lindsay’s milk that upset his stomach, vitamins, maybe he aspirated a bit - we’ll never know, and that’s ok. He’s doing great now. He’s been working on building up his feeds this week. He’s not quite back to his entire feed through bottle, but he’s getting there.

Crew came home with an NG tube because his feeds aren’t 100% bottle yet, and Lindsay and I have had to learn how to place one of those for when he pulls it out. He really doesn’t like all the stuff on his face, so we’ll be replacing it several times I’m sure.. He also came home on .06 liter of low-flow oxygen, which he mostly only needs when he’s asleep. We’re now focused on keeping him healthy so that he can kick the NG and oxygen soon.

We had such great nurses this week again. We had a couple of our primary nurses a fair amount too, which made us happy. He spent 20 days at Primary Children’s NICU and we are so so grateful for everyone who helped and cheered Crew and us on there. It takes quite a special type of person to work there and help so many babies with all sorts of difficult things. We’re so grateful for the friends we made in nurses, and everyone we got to meet, learn from, and share experiences with - parents, nurses, and all the other staff who got to know us.

FINALLY, we’re home as a family. Kennedy and Drake got to meet their brother, and Crew is able to see that we do actually have full faces behind the masks. ❤️

Our hearts are so very full. We can’t thank everyone enough for the prayers, fasts, messages, phone calls, service, meals, etc... that have been given and sent our way. It buoyed us up on the tough days and kept us moving. We’ll forever be grateful.
